Riding the Bull!

The pictures may not be the best, but they should give you a chuckle nonetheless. Friday night we headed to the metropolis of Chatsworth to check out the Fish Fry. Everyone we knew was leaving as we got there so we met them uptown afterwards for a drink. Little did we know that 107.7 The Bull was in town. The first 10 rides on the mechanical bull were free! Trever was the first sucker to give it a whirl. Then they talked me in to it. But the highlight of the night had to be Aunt Phyllis! She didn't exactly "ride" the bull, but she did get her picture taken on it. I hope I'm half that cool when I'm in my 80s!

"City" girl spends weekend on the farm

This past weekend Trever had chore duty while his parents made a trip to Ohio. So, Friday night we headed out to the farm to feed the cows. Saturday morning we got up early and Trever braved the cold to feed the cows again and then we headed up to Cabery to feed the cats. Then it was off to church to help out with the pancake and sausage breakfast.

After a quick trip home to pack another day's worth of clothes, we headed back to the farm, where Trever decided it was time to put me to work. For some reason he thought we should be nice and move some hay so that his dad wouldn't have to do it for a few days. Needless to say, this pig girl didn't move a lot of hay as a kid. That's when Trever decided he was marrying a city girl. I'm telling you, pigs are way better than those scary cows!

Sunday morning we headed to church in Onarga. We let Grandpa Kuipers buy us breakfast and then made our way to Rantoul for a taste testing with our wedding caterer. The twice baked potato caserole was AMAZING and we chose pork loin, roast beef, green beans and madarin orange salad.

Then, the highlight of the weekend, especially for my dad and Trever, was the bridal show at Rantoul High School. We got there just in time for the style show...woohoo. But we went to see the brown tux which we went and ordered afterwards.

Monday I had the day off work, so mom and I went to Champaign to try on her dress for the wedding. We had lunch with Kirk, Kenneth, Kathi and Kara but didn't get much else accomplished. Since then I've been fighting this nasty cold/flu thing. But after two shots and some steroids I'm feeling much better.

Beef Expo is cancelled this weekend so we don't have much going on. Maybe I'll get the house cleaned up after being out of commission for a few days.
